Take a look at these vibrant Kindergarten paintings! Here is how I was able to break this project down into three 35 minute classes:
We began by learning about geometric and organic shapes. After drawing 6 or more shapes onto their paper we traced our drawings with black paint.
Today was all about color! We learned how to use the primary colors to create secondary colors and painted the inside of our shapes.
We reviewed the primary and secondary colors, choosing one color for our background. We then learned about value and how we can add white to a color to make it lighter (tinting). We finished our work by painting the space behind our shapes.
Overall this was a great way to introduce basic skills and techniques while also learning painting routines and procedures.
